'True Blood' Author's 'Midnight, Texas' TV Series Gets New Featurette

Over the course of its seven seasons, True Blood introduced audiences to all sorts of ghastly creatures, with a rivalry between vampires and werewolves being one of the series' main components. The show was loosely based on Charlaine Harris' series of books, The Southern Vampire Mysteries, taking various liberties with the source material. For those missing the show full of mysteries, sex, violence, and vampires, NBC's Midnight, Texas is another adaptation of the author's books, which will debut on July 24. The show's synopsis is as follows:

"From vampires and witches to psychics and hit men, Midnight is a mysterious safe haven for those who are different. As the town members fight off outside pressures from rowdy biker gangs, ever-suspicious cops and their own dangerous pasts, they band together and form a strong and unlikely family."

As if you needed even more reasons to check out the new series, it was helmed by the director of Mr. Robot.

In the new featurette, the show's cast was asked about whether or not they'd be interested in living in the fictional town, knowing that for all the excitement that could come with living alongside vampires and witches, there could also be some dangers.

Actor Peter Mensah confessed, "I would live in Midnight. We're in this world but there's so much more that we don't see."

"I don't think I would like living in such a small town where everyone knows everyone's secrets," actor François Arnaud revealed.

Actress Sarah Ramos explained, "I probably would not live in Midnight, Texas, because I get scared really easily."

On the other hand, Parisa Fitz-Henley admitted, "I would love to live in Midnight. Oh my god. I live in Midnight now, in my head, a little bit."

"Witches and demons and psychics and fun? Hell yeah," proclaimed star Jason Lewis.

"I totally would live in Midnight, TX, but could I have an 'out' date?" actress Arielle Kebbel joked.

With the series airing on NBC instead of a cable network, we shouldn't expect Midnight, Texas to feature as much sex and violence as True Blood, but the featurette above definitely gives off similar vibes to the popular series.
