'Game of Thrones' Actor Reveals He's Become 'Unpopular' After One Episode

Despite last week's Game of Thrones episode, "The Spoils of War" being considered by audiences as one of the series' greatest to date, one actor is not too happy with the reception he's been receiving by fans.

Jerome Flynn, who plays Bronn, found himself at the center of unwanted attention by fans after his character fired an arrow directly into Drogon, Daernerys' fire-breathing dragon when the "Mother of Dragons" rode her magical beast during the epic Loot Train Battle, which found the Lannister forces getting scorched.

While Flynn's character has always been popular among fans, that opinion has now changed, according to the actor in an HBO interview.

"I spent weeks on that sequence, but I was on the edge of my seat, the adrenaline was running — they really nailed it," Flynn said of the action sequence.

However, it's his joke that brings some truth to light as he shares he's become a bit unpopular because of his character's attempt to kill Drogon.

"Although since the day the battle aired, I've been a little unpopular, I have to say. My postman won't speak to me because I shot the dragon," he said.

If fans had the chance to interact with Flynn too, they might give him the same reaction as his postman. Many took to social media and shared their feelings about the situation, with some wondering if Drogon and Daenerys would remember what Bronn attempted and seek their own revenge.

Flynn added that the hate towards his character for attempting to kill Daenerys and her fiery pet is understandable though as the battle was intentionally scripted to split loyalties.

"How brilliant is that? And that's Tyrion's perspective, standing there. He's got Daenerys when she gets shot down, and then his brother is who's trying to kill her; Tyrion can't win, really," he explained. "But that's part of the brilliance of where we've got to go in the story after seven years of that character investment."

Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST on HBO.
