In May's Season 5 finale, quite a few major characters were trapped in an explosive fire, leaving their fates up in the air. Key among these potential casualties was Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer). Fortunately, the posters for the new season put Casey right in front, teasing the fact that he's probably still alive.

While this is far from a confirmation, as it could be a tactic used by the creative team to throw everybody off, it still goes a long way toward making fans feel better. Casey's tear-jerking "you're my miracle" speech to Gabby (Monica Raymund) had viewers praying he'd make it through.

As you'd expect, Gabby is standing by Casey's side in the poster. The duo is joined by Severide (Taylor Kinney), Boden (Eamonn Walker), and Brett (Kara Kilmer).

The tagline on the image reads, "A Family of Heroes," teasing the overall theme of Season 6. Along with releasing the posters, EW spoke with showrunner Derek Haas about how the new installment will revolve around family.

"We've said you've got your firehouse family and you've got your family outside and how those affect each other – but we're really going to delve into that this year," Haas said. "We're going to be seeing more characters coming out of family members' lives, some that we've seen before, some that we'll meet for the first time, but getting a little bit more outside of the firehouse, but only in so much as it affects us on shift."
