'American Horror Story' Producer Describes 'Cult' With Three Odd Phrases

The American Horror Story cast and crew sat down for a press panel on Wednesday evening and while the details about the next season of the show were scarce, aspects were hinted at during the Television Critics Association's Summer Press tour.

The show's executive producer Alexis Martin Woodall described the season with three peculiar identifiers: "bloody tension," "a well-cooked meal" and "an exciting trip to the grocery store," according to media in attendance.

No word on whether the meal and grocery stores signified specific scenes that will appear in AHS's seventh season.

Woodall also went on to say that the show had a "streak of paranoia" and that there's a much different story forming than what you might think from the election teases.

"It's not what you think it is," she said, as reported by Deadline. "I'm not trying to be cagey. It's just with all good horror and suspense not knowing is going to be good for you."

New cast member Billy Lourd also teased that the season is a "straight-up horror drama" with not much comedy.

Those cryptic details were just about all the description the panel would give. Creator Ryan Murphy was not in attendance, and many noted that they weren't sure what he would allow them to say about the more specific aspects of the season.

The panel also included Sarah Paulson, Allison Pill, Adina Porter, Leslie Grossman, Lou Eyrich and Eryn Krueger Mekash.
