Per court documents, Jay Jastal, a Monett City Police Officer who works at Monett High School, was informed of the inappropriate relationship back in April. Jastal said he spoke with the student on May 3rd and the teen confirmed that he had been engaged in a relationship with Barclay.

The next day, Barclay admitted to having "an inappropriate relationship" with the boy.

According to the arrest affidavit, Barclay also admitted that she performed oral sex on the teen in a car at a Lawrence County, Mo park. Additionally, Barclay also admitted to having intercourse with the student at his Barry County home.

Reportedly, Barclay was hired by Monett High School to be a substitute teacher in the fall and was then promoted to a "paraprofessional" sometime in November. In January, she was promoted again, this time as a teacher assistant, but was subsequently let go on April 27, which was the day that the relationship was first reported to authorities.

Brad Hanson, Monett Superintendent, told reporters, "When we became aware of potential involvement with a student, we followed all procedures. We had a conversation with her and she was not employed from then on … We dealt with it swiftly … and now, we'll let the legal side do its work."

Barclay posted her $25,000 bond in Lawrence County and was released from jail, however at this time she had yet to appear in Barry County where her bond is set at $10,000.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for July 24.
