After announcing they were expecting a baby earlier this month, Bachelor in Paradise stars, Carly Waddell and Evan Bass have revealed they will be welcoming a girl next year.
Confirming the news to Entertainment Tonight, Waddell and Bass are extremely excited about their "miracle baby."
"We got the call at 1 [p.m.] from our doctor telling us it was a girl, and we both wept," Bass tells the news agency. "We were shocked and elated! I didn't think I could produce a girl! It feels like a miracle baby."
When they found out they were expecting a baby girl, the couple transformed a party they had planned at their house into a gender reveal, surprising every one of their guests. The celebration was intended to be a "wedding reception" after the couple documented their wedding on the new season of Bachelor in Paradise.
Bass, who has three sons from a previous relationship, documented the moment in a clip via his Instagram Stories. The 34-year-old former Bachelorette contestant said, "So, you guys, we just talked to the doctor. We're about to do a gender reveal!"
In the following clips, Bass shouts in excitement, "It's a girl."
"And we're surprising the kids later and we're having them bang open this piñata," added the mother-to-be, Waddell.
The expectant mama also posted a heartwarming image on Instagram of Bass' sons, writing, "This is our professional Gender Reveal photo! IT'S A GIRL!!!! I'm not the only girl anymore! Woo Hoo!!!!"
The couple met on the third season of ABC's Bachelor in Paradise and married in an intimate ceremony officiated by the show's host, Chris Harrison, near Puerto Vallarta in June. Waddell had previously appeared on Chris Soules' season of The Bachelor while Bass appeared on Joelle "JoJo" Fletcher's season of The Bachelorette.
This will be the couple's first child together. The couple currently lives in Nashville with Bass' three sons.
