Fan Unearths Unused 'Child's Play 3' Concept Posters

The third film in the Child's Play franchise is significant in the legacy of the characters, as it almost marked the end of the killer doll "Chucky" for good. Luckily, this proved not to be the case, as the seventh film, Cult of Chucky, will be released later this year. Recently, Child's Play superfan Stephen Snowdon took to Facebook to share unused concept art for Child's Play 3, claiming they "appeared on an auction site about a year ago." Check out the unused posters in the gallery below!

The official poster for the film ended up being a close-up look at Chucky's face, using the tagline "Look's who's stalking!" as a parody of the Look Who's Talking films which were popular around the time of Child's Play 3's release.

In the film, an older Andy Barclay (who was tormented by the killer doll in the first two films) is sent to a military academy after failing to adapt to life with any of his foster families. With the Play Pals company finally having recovered from the publicity disaster of the murderous doll, they resume production of the Good Guy dolls, with Chucky's remains being recycled into a new doll, allowing the killer to come back to life.

Despite the film being considered one of the less successful films in the franchise, with a new actor playing Andy Barclay and the introduction of a new young character that Chucky establishes a connection with, there are still a few memorable elements of this sequel.

One of the memorable scenes involves a paintball game in which the cadets at the military academy must play, allowing Chucky to swap out paintballs for live ammunition. Additionally, the film's climax takes place in an abandoned haunted house ride at a carnival, leading to Chucky's destruction in massive fan blades.

After the film's disappointing reception, it was seven years later that the franchise abandoned the "Child's Play" moniker, shifting focus away from the connection Chucky had with a child who discovered him and emphasizing the murderous doll above all else. The success of Bride of Chucky has resulted in three additional sequels, all using "Chucky" in the title and leaving Child's Play in the past.

Cult of Chucky will be available on Blu-ray, DVD, and VOD on October 20.
