HBO Hackers Leak 'Game of Thrones' Script, Executive Emails

The hackers who stole 1.5 terabytes of data from HBO have leaked a huge load of information on the network.

The group sent a ton of files to The Hollywood Reporter, including the script summary of an upcoming Game of Thrones episode and a month of emails from an HBO executive. THR is not revealing the specific details of the leaked material, but did list what was obtained.

Along with the emails were files marked "Confidential" and "Script GOT7" and a video of demands addressed to HBO CEO Richard Plepler. The hackers aren't shown in the clip. They instead have their message scroll across the screen with ominous music in the background.

"We successfully breached into your huge network," the hackers write in the video. "HBO was one of our difficult targets to deal with but we succeeded (it took about 6 months)."

The "confidential" files included data on the current season of GoT, including the script summary of episode five, casting reveals and marketing materials.

"HBO believed that further leaks might emerge from this cyber incident when we confirmed it last week," HBO's statement reads. "As we said, the forensic review is ongoing. While it has been reported that a number of emails have been made public, the review to date has not given us a reason to believe that our e-mail system as a whole has been compromised.

"We continue to work around the clock with outside cybersecurity firms and law enforcement to resolve the incident. Meanwhile, our dedicated employees continue to focus on delivering the high quality of entertainment and service for which we are known."
