Veep has won the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.

Considering Veep was up against Transparent, Silicon Valley, Modern Family, Master of None, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Black-ish, it was a major win for the show. This is the show's second consecutive and fifth consecutive nomination. Veep has had 16 nods so far this year and 42 all-time nominations.

The show's creator, Armando Iannnucci, closed the speech with the hilarious line, "This is for chubby Jews on the Upper West Side!"
