Nurse Fails Drug Test, Blames It on 'Sweaty' Sex With Drug User

According to one nurse, there are more ways to get drugs into your system than you may have thought.
Tara Seymour, a nurse in Melbourne, failed a recent drug test after traces of cocaine were reportedly found in her body. Seymour claims that she didn't actually partake in the drug, but that she had sex with a very sweaty man earlier that day.
Seymour reportedly informed the person administering the test that she had unprotected sex with a sweaty man, and hadn't washed up before heading into work. During her trial, she went on to explain that she later found out the man was a drug user, and that's how the traces of cocaine appeared in her system.

Chemical pathologist Julia Chang appeared at the hearing to determine whether or not there could be any truth to Seymour's claims. According to New York Post, it would take at least 17 oz of semen or sweat to affect a drug test, and there was no semen found in the urine sample.
Chang therefore decided that Seymour's story was "highly improbable."
This isn't the first time Seymour has been suspected of drug use, which is actually why she was being tested in the first place. Despite having an excellent employment record at her hospital, and being described as passionate about her job, the nurse has admitted to past drug use.

After a one month suspensions, Seymour went through a period of time where she was undergoing regular drug tests, and they always came up negative. However, after the tests loosened up, Seymour failed the test in November.
Due to her history with the issue, and the validity of Chang's findings, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal didn't quite believe Seymour's claims.

"We do not understand, if she has given up drugs or is at most a recreational drug user, how it was that she could not abstain from drug use, even in circumstances wherein she knew she was being tested.
"The fact that Ms. Seymour provided a positive sample is remarkable. Ms. Seymour had complained bitterly about the conditions on her registration. Ms. Seymour was well aware of the necessity to comply with the conditions on her registration. She was seemingly unable to do so."
Seymour will now undergo strict and regular drug testing for the next three months, and the condition will be reviewed again at that time.
