Miranda Lambert Gives Emotional Account of Her Healing Process Following Blake Shelton Split

Country singer-songwriter, Miranda Lambert might have split up from Blake Shelton nearly two years ago, but the 33-year-old is now opening up about how she dealt with the very public divorce through music.

In an interview with Billboard, the Texas native recalls the time she was heading into the studio to write the track, "Vice" on the day that news of her divorce took over the internet by storm.
"I walked in with guns blazing," she said. "I just knew one thing: I didn't want a breakup record. I was like, 'Let's feel it all.' I was ready to have the days where I can't even stand up and the days where I'm celebrating."
Not only did she write the track in five minutes, but she also released the record last November without much media attention that typically accompanies a new album, saying she "didn't need to talk about record."
"If you want to hear my side of the story or my opinion of what happened, it's all on there. There's no mystery anymore — take from it what you will," she said.
Despite her attitude at events and shows, Lambert says it was often difficult to keep a brave face.
"I'm more known for my fiery personality and my confidence, but that's not me all the time," she explained. "I won't look at things ever again in the same light, because different things in your life bring you to a deeper level with yourself. I won't take pain for granted anymore."
Though she has a fiery personality, the singer-songwriter is just your average girl-next-door off stage. Enjoying a laid-back lifestyle, Lambert recently bought a 400-acre property with her boyfriend, Anderson East an hour outside Nashville.

"I go to my farm, and I don't wear makeup for a week or wash my hair," she revealed. "I put it in a bandana and wear cutoffs and play with my dogs."
In the candid interview with Billboard, she also opens up about why she never gets political in her music, saying it should be "an escape from your own reality."
"I don't want to go to a show and hear somebody preach about their opinions," she said. "It's so divided [in politics], you can't win anyway — and what are you winning? For someone to agree with you, and now you've spoken your piece and pissed off many other people, just for one person to go, 'She's right'? It doesn't do any good."
"I'm a country singer. We talk about tears in our beers," she said.
