Converse X Ultraman Sneakers Revealed

Fans of Ultraman in the states don't have as many options to choose from in regards to wearing their Ultraman fandom for others to see. Unfortunately, the envy is going to get much worse with Converse's latest Japan exclusive.

The vaunted shoe company has unveiled their latest exclusive (via Hypebeast), which celebrates Ultraman's 50th anniversary with the Converse x Ultraman collection. The line features three shoes, all themed after Ultraman and his most well-known adversaries. The first, The All Star Ultraman R-HI, features the iconic red and silver color scheme, with a blue patch on the right side and a red patch on the left. It also features a recreation of the hero on the bottom of the shoes.

After that, we have the All-Star Vartan Say Jin R Slip OX (Alien Baltan) edition.which features a dark blue scheme with a touch of yellow, and also features a portrait of the monster on the bottom. Lastly, we have the All-Star Eleking R-HI, which has a bold black and white pattern, and glows in the dark just like the monster it represents. It also features a portrait of Eleking on the bottom.

All three will be available in Japan sometime in July, and will retail for around 8,500 yen to 9,500 yen ($80 to $90 USD). You can get a look at all the shoes (via Clutter Magazine) in the gallery.

All three shoes are based on the original 1966 Ultraman series, where the hero took on a variety of different monsters each episode, and even though it isn't as popular here in the states as its Kaiju cousin Godzilla and other fare, it still has a huge following in Japan.
