Megan Fox Under Fire After She Posted a Photo of Her Son in a Dress
The comments on Megan Fox's latest Instagram post are a focal point of drama right now.Haters and [...]
Critics
The haters of the outfit took the obvious routes of criticism.
Many said letting the behavior happen would only confuse Noah further down the line about his sexual orientation. Some just took took to rude name-calling and saying it shouldn't happen, "just because."
"Why would you let your SON buy a dress? Wouldn't you encourage them to go for the...idk...ninja turtles outfit?," wrote user JoAnn Stacy. "Kids grow based on their parents decisions for them. If your boy wants to buy a dress it would only make sense to tell them no that's for girls, simply because. ITS FOR GIRLS."
"Don't let your boy wear Cinderella dresses," another user commented. "It's highly confusing for the kid. Honestly thought he was a girl. smh This society is Lost."
"Megan you are a sick woman, is really awful how you are teaching you son to be a homosexual," wrote a crude anonymous user. "He is a baby and you are a pervert."
Supporters
Those comments luckily got blasted very quickly. Fans filled the Transformers actress's comments with inspirational words and attacks towards her detractors.
"I cant believe people are really trying to make decisions and tell you what you can and not let your kid wear," wrote Jennifer Tayler. "If he likes the dress, let him wear it. Why do people think its okay to hate on a little boy for wearing what he thinks is pretty. She's not making him something he isn't, she's letting him make his own choices. Doesn't matter what anyone else says."
"My son loves his dress too!" commented Eliesha Lackey. "And for anybody posting anything negative, look up toxic masculinity. You want men to BE better, raise them better, raise them to not look down on femininity."
"At the end of the day with all of the really serious shit going on, people choose this to be upset about!" wrote Donna Psaltis. "It amazes me that we can be so judgmental about a boy wearing a costume or gown or whatever. That's one thing I learned about parenting, what seemed like the worst thing is not even remembered in 10 years. Let kids be kids without all of the judgements."
Fox's Reasoning
This isn't the first time Fox has been criticized for letting her kids wear dresses. She got a lot of hate when photos of Noah is the same dress surfaced earlier this year.
She opened up about why she lets her children dress that way during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel. She says it dates back to her upbringing in a Pentecostal household with strict rules of dress.
"I grew up in a Pentecostal household, it's Southern Christian....those are the people who handle snakes," she said. "The women in the church are only allowed to wear pants, you can't wear dresses, you can't wear make-up or jewelry, so it's a really sort of oppressive environment to grow up in. But I sort of lean left of that now. The boys can wear dresses. Noah wears dresses so there are no rules - you can be whatever you want to be in my house!"
It's hard to see Fox changing her parenting based on some rude comments. So Noah will probably continue to dress as he pleases for the immediate future.
