It’s been reported that rapper DMX has decided to check himself into rehab after, as he put it, “house arrest wasn’t working.”
According to TMZ, a judge approved DMX’s request to forego his tax evasion house arrest and opt to enter rehab instead.

The rapper was quoted as saying, “House arrest wasn’t working for me, so I made the decision to do something positive and better for myself.”
As a source close to the situation reveals, DMX has entered a facility in New England in order to get treatment for substance abuse.
Pat Gallo, X’s manager, reports that the rapper is doing great and has already made “great progress,” as he recently took a trip with his rehab group to a firehouse.
Additionally, DMX revealed that he’s continued to work on music while he’s been going through this transition, saying, “My pen is still to the paper and I’m in Beast Mode.”
Last month, It was reported that DMX has been arrested and charged with “tax fraud.” Reportedly, DMX was creating accounts in other people’s names and paying personal expenses mostly in cash in order to evade taxes.
DMX was taken into custody after turning himself in and went before a judge the following day. The charges were brought against him by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York and by the Internal Revenue Service.
The 46-year-old was charged with 14 counts, including “one count of corruptly endeavoring to obstruct and impede the due administration of Internal Revenue Laws, one count of evasion of payment of income taxes, six counts of evasion of assessment of income tax liability, and six counts of failure to file a U.S. individual income tax return.”
He was also accused of “filing a false affidavit in U.S. Bankruptcy Court” which listed his income as “unknown” for multiple years.
