'OITNB' Star Posts Horribly Timed Photo Amid the Charlottesville Killing

The nation was rocked yesterday by the news of the killing in Charlottesville during a white nationalist rally and anti-white nationalist protest. This tragic event makes Orange Is the New Black actress Taryn Manning's new Instagram post very poorly timed.

In the photo, posted today, Manning and a friend are sitting on the floor in white t-shirts and the photo is captioned, "White Party."

Considering how emotionally charged the events in Charlottesville have been, this was a very inopportune time to post this, and one of her followers let her know.

The person wrote, "Not the best time to say 'white' party with all this bs happening."

Since the photo was only posted a couple of hours ago, Manning is likely to get more opinions the longer the photo stays up.

As previously reported, counter-protesters were responding to the "Unite the Right Rally" that was sponsored by white nationalist groups. During their protest, a gray Dodge Charger plowed into a group of the counter-protesters.

The person driving the car then backed up and fled but was eventually caught.

Nineteen people were injured and one person died as a result of the attack, 32-year-old Heather Heyer.

"I am heartbroken that a life has been lost here," Charlottesville Mayor Mike Signer tweeted. "I urge all people of good will--go home."
