Simpson received his treatment through March, which sources said at the time that the cancer was gone. However, this is the first time Joe himself has spoken out about his post-treatment condition.

"The cancer went away and he's doing great!" a source told Us. "He has a new lease on life. His kids are obviously so happy. There is always a chance [the cancer] can come back, of course, but doctors are optimistic."

The outlet also reports that the health scare caused the Simpson's family to come together. It's said that Simpson and Jessica, who has started a family of her own, have particularly bonded.

"This had made their relationship stronger," the source said. "Jessica was the one he wasn't as close with, and this made them so close. They're all closer because of what he's going through."
