Katsilometes also passed on an official statement on the passing, which said that the Nutty Professor star died of natural causes. His family was by his side at the time of his death.
Lewis had been admitted to a Las Vegas hospital back in June, but it's not clear if that brush with illness had anything to do with his death.
Lewis was known as one of the greatest comedic talents of all time. Some of his most memorable films include Cinderfella, The Nutty Professor, The King of Comedy, The Bellboy and The Disorderly Orderly.
He also known as one half of Martin and Lewis (alongside Dean Martin) and for his Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon specials, which raised money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. His final film was the 2016 drama Max Rose.
Admirers, such as Penn Jillette have already taken to Twitter to shared their grief.
