Ariel Winter isn't afraid to cook up controversy on social media, and she was back at it again with her latest post while on a trip to Delaware. The Modern Family star took to Instagram on Tuesday to reveal a photo in which she joked about getting "crabs."

The 19-year-old actress shared the pic with the racy caption: "I got crabs in Delaware."

The image shows a red-haired Ariel Winter sporting a vibrant pink top that teases a glimpse of her ample cleavage. She was pictured holding up a massive crab in front of her face as she prepared to dig in for a delicious meal.

While the Dog Years star literally meant that she ordered crabs to eat, she was clearly making a reference to the STD, commonly referred to as "crabs." Some of her fans did not realize that Ariel was using the caption as a humorous play on words.

"You should phrase that better, like I have ordered crabs in Delaware," one fan wrote.

"You got crabs? Better get that checked out," another commented.

Ariel Winter joking that she "got crabs" is the kind of comment that doesn't exactly help her out in a battle against the "fake news" that she says has been circulating about her in the media. Last week, she took to Instagram to blast Star Magazine for publishing an article claiming that she was financially supporting her 29-year-old beau Levi Meaden.

"Star Magazine is OBVIOUSLY a non reputable source and a trash magazine, but seriously how dare you make up stuff that you have no idea about?" she wrote. "I have a BOYFRIEND and a PERSONAL ASSISTANT who are NOT the same person. I would NEVER pay my boyfriend ANY sort of allowance, nor would he EVER accept if I offered."

Winter continued by writing: "He BUYS his own stuff whether it's for me or for himself, and he more than pulls his weight for our life. I HATE fake news, but I guess that's what our world has come to. Get your sh*t straight. I don't support anyone, and I don't need anyone to support me. He's got a full career (including something huge that's new) and works hard for it. He's not just someone's boyfriend. So if you don't know us, don't comment. Xoxo."
