Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson Talk About Their Dueling Movies and Battling Cancer

Even though Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson both have movies out in theaters right now, they aren't too concerned about whose movie is going to do better at the box office. They walked the red carpet at the Stand Up 2 Cancer event on Friday, and talked to ET for a bit about their movies and about Wilson's recent battle with cancer.

"We're battling it out… He's got Sully, I've got Brother Nature – two completely different movies, though," Wilson said. "Like, maybe you see Sully, and then you do a late show of Brother Nature or vice versa."

"Taran Killam vs. Clint Eastwood, all the way," Hanks chimed in.

Of course these two aren't concerned about how their movies will do against each other, but possibly how each will do over all. Even though the two have been in show business for years, they admit that the ratings and reviews still matter to them a bit.

"I did another movie not too long ago, and when the reviews came out, someone came up to me and said, 'Well, the New York Post didn't hate your movie too much,' " Hanks said. "So, it's better to have it the other way around."

Hanks and Wilson have a special place in their hearts for Stand Up 2 Cancer, especially after Wilson's recent battle with breast cancer. She was diagnosed in April 2015 and underwent a double mastectomy. Thankfully, in December 2015, she reported being cancer free.

"I want to say, first of all, that I'm thankful for every single day," Wilson said at the event. She has also gushed in the past about how supportive her husband has been throughout the entire treatment. Hanks still supports her today, and gives encouraging words to others who have to battle the disease.

"No one should got through this alone," Hanks said. "That not only goes for the person who is carrying it and in bed for a very long time, but there are also the people who love them."
