Go ahead and throw back your pretty pink lemonade shooter because it's Blake Shelton's birthday! The country music mega star turns the big 4-0 today!

So, how will Shelton celebrate? Undoubtedly, adult beverages will be involved and we think vodka might be his liquor of choice. In March, the "Sure Be Cool If You Did" singer announced he is launching a vodka brand called Smithworks, which is bottled in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

What about decorations? Gal pal Gwen Stefani, was seen by People Magazine shopping at a West Hollywood novelty store two days before Shelton's birthday. She was loading up on a variety of items, including a grass skirt, which is seen peeking out of one of the bags. Tiki, anyone?

One thing is for sure, Shelton will start the party with his fans. On Friday, he posted a pre-birthday pic before one of his performances, saying, "Who's ready for my birthday...I mean show? Let's celebrate!"

Tonight, Shelton is playing Country Jam in Grand Junction, Colorado, in which his set isn't scheduled to end until 12:15 a.m. Sunday morning. It might be a late night, but we're sure he's used to it!

Shelton was born in Ada, Oklahoma, and two weeks after graduating from high school, in 1994, he moved to Nashville to launch a songwriting career. After selling songs he had written to several musical publishing houses, he signed a solo recording contract with Giant Records, according to Biography.

Shelton's first hit was in 2001 with "Austin," which spent five weeks at number one. In 2002, he released his debut, self-titled album which reached gold status thanks to two other popular singles, "All Over Me" and "Ol' Red."

Since that time, Shelton has produced nine studio albums, including his most recent release, the very personal, If I'm Honest. According to his website, this is Shelton's third consecutive album to hit number one on the Billboard Country Albums Chart. The album's first single, "Came Here To Forget," is his 17th consecutive number one single and 22nd overall.

Along with his country music career, Shelton has become a fixture on the NBC singing competition show, The Voice. This is also where he met fellow judge, Gwen Stefani, and started a romance after he and Miranda Lambert split in July 2015.

Before Lambert, Shelton was married from 2003 to 2006 to Kaynette Williams.
