OPPORTUNITIES:

Assistant Managing Editor (ComicBook) - Responsible for working within the management team of ComicBook.com to provide the editorial oversight of a team of editors and writers. This editorial team is responsible for the creation of content across all platforms of PopCulture Media including but not limited to the website, apps, digital hubs, newsletters and all social platforms. This position will come with content writing expectations as well as managerial responsibilities and will report to the Editor in Chief of PopCulture Media.

    • Junior level position reporting to executive leadership team
    • 3+ years of editorial, writing/reporting with management experience
    • 3+ years of digital experience
    • 2+ years of social media experience
    • Exceptional communication skills and highly organized
    • Expertise in business and technology topics
    • Experience multitasking and tracking many projects simultaneously
    • Familiarity with using data to guide story pitches and develop audience loyalty
    • Based out of our Nashville office

PopCulture.com Staff Writer(s) - Full time

  • News Desk, general assignment

PopCulture.com writers will be responsible for writing articles and news stories as well as crafting social media posts. A successful candidate will have broad knowledge that spans TV and movies, music and radio, the online world, as well as fashion, trends and other elements of pop culture. There will be opportunities to attend press junkets, interview cast members, and break news but much of the daily work will be considerably more grinding. It will included skimming press releases, chasing leads, verifying tips and rumors, attempting to get quotes, reviewing aired programming or re-purposing content from other outlets. It will also, largely, be a position that requires evening hours. 

  • Extensive knowledge of, and passion for, pop culture and television that extends beyond office hours and office walls 
  • Writing and reporting experience with reputable media or as a freelancer

  • Willingness and ability to write 8-10 articles in a single shift

  • Willingness and readiness to learn, work, and grow with a team

  • Weekend and evening hours are required

  • An engaged and professional social media presence is preferred

  • Applicants who live in or are willing to relocate to Middle Tennessee will be preferred
