There Are More TV Revivals Coming in 2017 and We Can't Wait

The TV revival trend will continue in 2017. Last year, we saw a slew of series come back to life, such as Gilmore Girls, Full House and The X-Files.

We hope this trend continues to prosper because we have a list of series we would like to see come back. It was recently announced the Roseanne will be rebooted on ABC with the original cast, but that's not all for the 2017 lineup.

Popular series Twin Peaks, Prison Break and Mystery Science Theater 3000 all came back for another season, which have already premiered.

However, there is still more to come in the following months, including a major Disney revival and a comedy that will keep us laughing until 2018.

Curb Your Enthusiasm

In summer 2016, HBO announced that it will be rebooting Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm, following its five-year hiatus.

The new season with be the series' ninth and David will reprise his role as a fictionalized version of himself. The star-studded cast will feature Cheryl Hines, Susie Essman, Jeff Garlin and Ted Danson.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is set to return to HBO in October.

The Magic School Bus

The Magic School Bus Rides Again will be a Netflix revival of the 1990 kids series. Saturday Night Live comedian Kate McKinnon is set to star in the series and will play bus driver Ms. Frizzle, who was previously voiced by Lily Tomlin.

The revival of the original PBS series was announced in 2014. The date of the release has not been announced, but it is expected to hit Netflix this year.

Star Trek

Star Trek: Discovery will air on CBS All Access for a 13-episode revival. The sci-fi franchise will follow a female lead character who is on a journey to find common ground with others in the galaxy.

The freshman season will "bridge the gap between Enterprise and the original series."

Michelle Yeoh, Doug Jones, and Anthony Rapp will star in the series reboot. This will be the first time Star Trek will return to its original medium since 2005. The premiere date is still undetermined.

Will & Grace

As you probably already know, Will & Grace is returning this fall.

The highly anticipated NBC revival will feature the original cast, Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes. The 12-episode season is expected to pick up right where the characters' storylines ended a decade after the 2006 finale.

Will & Grace creators/executive producers Max Mutchnick and David Kohan will take charge of the new episodes, so we can expect a very similar production.

DuckTales

Disney XD is bringing back DuckTales!

The reboot of the Emmy-winning series, which aired from 1987 to 1990, will follow Disney's iconic characters Donald Duck, Scrooge McDuck, and his grandnephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie as they travel across the world.

The series will be produced by Disney Television Animation and will premiere this summer. The actual release date is currently unknown.
