Kevin James Teases 'Kevin Can Wait' Season 2 Details in New Photo

Kevin Can Wait is on the verge of its season 2 premiere, and lead actor Kevin James is already in midst of production. On Tuesday, James shared a tease of the new season with a photo of a season 2 script.

The image, which can be seen above, shows a script for the season's second episode, "Business Unusual."

The title wasn't the only detail revealed in the shot. The episode will be directed by executive producer Andy Fickman. Fickman directed all 24 episodes of Kevin Can Wait's first season, so it's nice to see another consistent element locked in after all the casting turmoil off-screen.

Even the writing staff showcases just how the new season will be leaning into its new direction. All three writers on the season 2 episode (Mike Soccio, Annie Levine and Jonathan Emerson) all contributed to the script for season 1's two-part finale, "The Sting of Queens."

That episode was basically a test run for season 2's revamped direction. Leah Remini guest starred as the former police partner of James' protagonist. Remini has been promoted to a series regular for season 2, filling the void left by Erinn Hayes, who was let go from the show.

The whole shakeup appears to be a way to recreate the same success of Remini and James' sitcom The King of Queens, and these credits also support that. Soccio had several contributions to that show's scripts throughout its nine seasons.

James also revealed that they'll be reading the script on Friday.

"Both of these are getting devoured Friday night," he said, also referencing a Tim Tam chocolate bar in the photo. "Season two baby..."

Kevin Can Wait will return to CBS on Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. ET.
