'Game of Thrones': Noah Syndergaard Cameo Revealed

Easter eggs are always sprinkled throughout Game of Thrones episodes, and this latest cameo might have slipped by you. New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard teased a small role in the show earlier this year, and fans got to see him in action during "The Spoils of War."

During the epic battle at the end of the episode, Syndergaard is seen as a Lannister soldier throwing a spear. He wounds a Dothraki warrior's horse in the process, so his MLB-level throwing power must have carried over into the GoT universe.

Sadly, it doesn't appear we'll be seeing Syndergaard's soldier again any time soon. He and most of the other Lannister soldiers were incinerated by the Targaryen dragon, Drogon.

Regardless of his fate, Syndergaard was elated to be a part of one of his favorite shows.

"I think it's the greatest TV show of all time, so just to be able to say I was in Game of Thrones is an unbelievable feeling," he told Sports Illustrated about his day on the set.

After it aired, he was all about commenting on his experience on social media.

He posted a screenshot of his cameo on Instagram with the caption, "This is my "Ummm... is that a dragon?" face."

He also shared some commentary on his scenes. About his spear toss, he said, "Take that you mean Dothraki #shottotheheart #andyouretoblame."

And to his fiery death, he had a worthy excuse.

"To my side's defense....they had a FRICKEN DRAGON!!!" he said. "At least I didn't throw behind him."

HBO's Game of Thrones airs Sunday nights at 8 p.m. CT.
