Thanks to the success of The Conjuring, Insidious, and Furious 7, director James Wan has become one of the most sought-after talents in Hollywood. The director's next film, Aquaman, is also slated to be one of the biggest films of the year and an exciting addition to the DC Extended Universe. Not limited to just directing, the filmmaker has also produced many horror films, with the underseen 2013 production Demonic finally getting a North American screening, airing tonight on Spike TV at 8:00 PM ET.

The film's synopsis is as follows:

"When Detective Mark Lewis (Frank Grillo) is called to a local house, he finds the bodies of three slaughtered college students. The only survivor, John (Dustin Milligan) claims they held a séance to summon ghosts of people killed in the house years earlier. Now, three of his friends are dead and two are missing – including his pregnant girlfriend. Teaming up criminal psychologist Dr. Elizabeth Klein (Maria Bello), Det. Lewis investigates the videotapes discovered at the scene to try and uncover what really happened that night. What they find is more terrifying than they ever could have imagined…"

Considering all the advances in various movie platforms, from streaming services to VOD markets, it's not a surprise that a film could end up getting shelved for months or years on end. Luckily, these various platforms allow films that would otherwise go completely unseen to eventually find a place to be released.

In addition to Wan leaving his mark on the production, the film stars horror veterans Frank Grillo (The Purge) and Maria Bello (Light Out, Secret Window).

Prior to his recent string of supernatural successes, Wan broke into the world of horror thanks to Saw, which told the story of a serial killer who would strap victims into elaborate traps, forcing them to make decisions in which they would sacrifice something for their own survival. That film went on to score seven sequels, with the latest, Jigsaw, landing in theaters this fall.

Any filmmaker would be happy with the success of a film like Saw, but Wan also crafted the Insidious franchise, whose fourth installment will be releasing next year, and the ever-expanding Conjuring universe of films.

Following the success of 2013's The Conjuring, the film earned the spin-off Annabelle and the sequel The Conjuring 2. The sequel has inspired the spin-offs The Nun and The Crooked Man, as well as the first spin-off scoring the sequel Annabelle: Creation. Earlier this year, it was announced that The Conjuring 3 was on the way.
