Kellie Pickler had a very special relationship with her grandmother.
Pickler's grandmother, Faye, helped raise the country music star in the face of an absent father and a mother who abandoned Pickler when she was only 2 years old.

Sadly, Faye died from lung cancer in 2002, but in a sneak preview for the upcoming third season of CMT's I Love Kellie Pickler, Pickler and her husband, Kyle Jacobs, go into the studio to record a song dedicated to her grandmother.
Pickler, who debuted the song "If It Wasn't for a Woman" at CMA Fest in June, gets emotional talking about why the song is so important to her.

"We want the song to touch people. We want to make them feel something. We want to make them think," Pickler says. "One of the most beautiful things about this song is that it's real. It's life in the form of a song, and so many people, I think, will identify with it.
The third season of I Love Kellie Pickler premieres August 3 on CMT.
