Cynthia Bailey of 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' Says She and Husband Are Separated

After some very tense scenes in last season's The Real Housewives of Atlanta, star Cynthia Bailey has revealed that she and her husband Peter Thomas are separated, Bravo's The Daily Dish reports.

Bailey confirmed, "Peter and I are separated. He lives in Charlotte, and I live in Atlanta."

Although the pair have not decided what the future holds for their relationship, Bailey says that for now she is enjoying taking some time for herself.

She explained, "I am definitely taking some time to myself to figure out how I want to move forward. I don't want to rush into anything, so I think this time apart is good for us."

Although the couple live in different cities, Bailey says, "I think the space apart, I think he can appreciate it as well. I think it gives people time to think and process and just move forward in a way that really is healthy for everyone involved."

Bailey and Thomas' wedding was covered on RHOA season three, but saw the most difficulty in season eight after a video showing Thomas speaking closely with another woman surfaced online.

The couple decided to work on their relationship, which appeared to be working — they went on a trip to Jamaica together and planned dinner dates.

However, at the RHOA season eight reunion, things were strained again between the couple.

Bailey says that however things end with her husband, she has respect and love for him.

She explained, "Regardless of where I am with Peter, he is my husband. I will always love him, and I will always support him. And I believe he feels the same about me."
