'The Ranch': Ashton Kutcher On What Makes Sam Elliott The Perfect TV Dad

Well, Ashton Kutcher gets to live out that dream every day when he goes to work and stands face-to-face with Sam Elliott.

Fans have always loved Elliott, and they continue to do so with The Ranch. According to Kutcher, the beloved actor is the key to making the Netflix original series such a success.

During an interview with TV Insider, Kutcher was asked about working with the mustached tough guy.

"Sam is just a powerhouse, man. Those are the scenes I get most excited about, when I get to go head-to-head with him, because he's so authentic. He definitely keeps me on my toes."

Film fans have recently seen that Eliott still has loads of talent, as his latest film The Hero has brought the actor a ton of critical praise.

Kutcher went on to explain that Elliott is most important part of The Ranch, and that their dynamic on-screen is what draws viewers into the series.

"He's the central axis to the show in many ways. And this was something else we realized too—there wasn't really a strong father-son show on TV. Generationally, we're constantly redefining what it means to be a man. Sam captures that so beautifully."

It's hard to think that any fan of The Ranch would disagree with Ashton on that one!
