Daniel Radcliffe Plays The Anti-Magician In Now You See Me 2

If you've seen recent comic book movies like Deadpool or Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice at the movie theater, you've probably also seen a trailer for Now You See Me 2, the sequel nobody saw coming.

Anyway, the film brings back much of the cast of Now You See Me, the 2013 heist movie that puts a magician played by Jesse Eisenberg at odds with a federal agent played by Mark Ruffalo. It also introduces a new character, played by Harry Potter franchsie star Daniel Radcliffe.

And, yes, he's a magician.

Well, kind of. You'll see in the trailer that he's pretty clearly terrible at it -- and that's actually not a punchline, but a starting point, for his character.

"Walter definitely plays the anti-magician, who maybe used to love magic, but he's horrible at it," director Jon M. Chu told EW. "He's been burnt by it, so he's turned to science. Science is the real magic to him. He basically takes these Horsemen on a ride. He now owns the Horsemen in a way that they have to escape his magic trick."

One year after outwitting the FBI and winning the public's adulation with their mind-bending spectacles, the Four Horsemen resurface in Now You See Me 2 only to find themselves face to face with a new enemy who enlists them to pull off their most dangerous heist yet.

The film opens on May 31.
