Batman: The Killing Joke is one of the most anticipated DC Animated adaptations in quite some time. Partly due to the adult themes that Alan Moore's Batman tale tends to play with, and partly due to the effect it had on the various characters in Batman's world, including Barbara Gordon.

The two iconic characters are voiced by the actors most fondly associated with the roles, those being Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as The Joker. Only Conroy and Hamill have the natural chemistry to pull this type of storyline off, and while Hamill doesn't have much dialogue in this new scene, it captures the eerie tension of the original sequence in the comic just perfectly.

Hamill previously echoed the adultness of the script. "Even that surprised me, how edgy the Batgirl material was," Hamill said. "It really isn't for kids. I hope people understand when they say it's R-rated, they mean it." As for Conroy, he loves Batman's inner conflict this time around. "The struggle of Batman with evil and with wanting to reconcile himself to evil, to subdue evil and actually save the Joker" Conroy mused. "That's the wonderful thing about this script."

Batman: The Killing Joke releases on July 25th.
