FOX 31 reports that 4-year-old, Sidney was worried the home she and her family recently moved into was full of monsters, telling the news outlet, "I heard sounds when people weren't up."

Sidney's mother, Megan Fahrenbruch said her daughter was never concerned until moving into their new home. But during a community event with the Longmont Police Department this past month, Sidney decided to ask Officer David Bonday for help.

Most graciously, the officer accepted though he admitted to the young girl, he had never been on a monster hunt before. While visiting the family's home on Sunday, Bonday let the young girl borrow his flashlight as the two searched the premises.

Sidney said the search for monsters was "like you are doing a real hunt, like a ghost hunt," although there were none discovered.

However, her mother says there is something the pair found together that she never realized was there in the first place.

"It's just amazing the confidence he's given her," Fahrenbruch said. "We're truly grateful to live in a town where the police officer will pay a kid any attention."

As luck would have it, Sidney hopes to become an officer one day, frequently sporting a police uniform and T-shirts from other police departments. The young girl also calls Bonday her "best friend" and hopes to one day be just like him.

"She wants to grow up and be a cop and help other people find monsters as well," Fahrenbruch said.
