These Are The Sex Positions Women Want You to Stop Asking For
Basically everyone has sex, so why wouldn't you want to be good at it? And for a guy, being 'good [...]
Missionary / From Behind
Missionary is kind of the standard, beginners sex position, which kind of leads it to being a bit of a drag to your partner. It just doesn't get to the right spots for a woman to easily get off. Plus as Jen Landa, M.D., author of The Sex Drive Solution for Women., told Men's Fitness, it doesn't give off the best impression for your size.
"If you're on the smaller end of the spectrum, this position doesn't really accentuate your size," Landa said.
Second up is having sex from behind, or really any variation of "doggy style." Some women feel its painful, and some feel either awkward or that it puts them in a submissive position they don't enjoy.
"I don't love Doggy Style because it can hurt if the guy is really big… if you get what I mean," Ashley W. told Men's Fitness.
"(I don't like) doggy, unless the guy is engaging. Otherwise it feels like you're being used," said Natalie R.
prevnextStanding / In The Shower
Standing position are a crap shoot, even if they're malleable to any sex locale. They just put too much physical stress on both parties. Even if you utilize a wall or other support to hold you partner up, it just pulls your focus away from the task at hand.
"Love it in theory, but even the strongest guy can't hold a 100+ pound girl while thrusting for very long."said Lindsay M. "Everyone gets tired."
Furthermore, unless you and your partner are around the same height it can be just be awkward. Also, those physical limitations are still in play and are made even more strenuous.
"This never works for me because I've never been with a guy whose pelvis directly lines up with mine," said Heather F. "The logistics have to be perfect for this, otherwise he tries to lift me up, and that lasts about 1 minute before his arms go numb."
As for the shower, account for all those factors plus water and slick surfaces. Not typically a good idea.
prevnext69 / Reverse Cowgirl
Two more common-but-not-pleasurable positions are reverse cowgirl and the infamous "69."
Both ramp up physical embarrassment and self-consciousness, which are two things no one wants to feel in the middle of intercourse. The physical pleasures just aren't worth all that emotional stress.
"I'm really not into the whole 'Please look directly at my ass' thing (with reverse cowgirl)." said Lauren R. "Also it's tiring, and there's very little return on investment."
"69, to me, is something you try in high school and college, then never ever think about again because it's disastrously embarrassing." said Katie M.
prevnextUpside Down / Legs Behind Head
Finally, many women don't want anything that hangs them upside down or shoves their legs over their head.
In particular, Men's Health advises against the "oil driller" position, where the female partner is turned upside down while the male stands above and strokes down.
"This does absolutely nothing for the woman except remind her how much she values oxygen when her chin is smashed to her chest," Drillinger wrote.
As far as rolling your partner up, just don't. Would you like to have sex while being forcibly folded in half? I didn't think so.
"I hate when guys put my legs above my head and pin them against me," said Sam M. "It makes me feel like I have to barf. Besides, if I wanted to be Betty Spaghetty I would have been a gymnast."
So, with all this in mind, make your next sexual experience one that both you and your partner are into. Ask them what works, what doesn't work and which ways make her feel like a Betty Spaghetty doll.
