Tom Hiddleston finally addressed the rumors surrounding his relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift, and has confirmed that the budding romance between the famous couple is in fact "not a publicity stunt."
The 35-year-old actor, who was recently nominated for an Emmy for his role on AMC's The Night manager, discussed his relationship with the "Blank Space" singer Taylor Swift in a telephone interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Hiddleston is currently in Australia filming the next installment to Marvel's Thor series, Thor: Ragnarok, and was asked whether or not his relationship with Swift was a publicity stunt like many have speculated since the first photos of the couple together surfaced.
"Well, um. How best to put this?" Hiddleston pondered. "The truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together, and we're very happy. Thanks for asking."
He then continued by stating, "That's the truth. It's not a publicity stunt."
Hiddleston and Swift have been the center of attention as the couple has been spotted together on several occasions in various locations including: a walk along the beach at Swift's Rhode Island home, a trip to Rome with Hiddleston's mother, and an outing in Nashville for a Selena Gomez concert. Swift broke up with DJ-producer Calvin Harris two weeks before the first sightings of Hiddleston and Swift together.
The duo became Instagram official in one of Taylor's friends' posts who snapped the couple together at Taylor's Rhode Island home, but had not confirmed the relationship publicly until now. The picture shows Swift seated upon Hiddleston's lap on the front porch beside famous friends Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.
