Stranger Things And Game Of Thrones Make For Innappropriate Musicals

"Winter is coming...all over you."

Over the past several years, there's been a surprising number of musicals created (or being developed) based on popular television shows, movies, board games, comic books, and novels, such as True Blood, Groundhog Day, Moulin Rouge, Monopoly, SpongeBob SquarePants, Archie Comics, Stephen King's Misery, and James Bond.

Poking fun of this latest trend, late night talk show host James Corden, along with Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family) and Alan Cumming (X2: X-Men United), transformed Game of Thrones, HBO's award-winning fantasy series that's filled with violence and sex; Breaking Bad, AMC's highly-acclaimed series about a chemistry teacher-turned-meth cook; and Stranger Things, the Netflix series that is a love letter to sci-fi films of the '70s and '80s, into Broadway musicals, proving each show is unsuitable for the stage.

Each week night, THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN throws the ultimate late night after party with a mix of celebrity guests, edgy musical acts, games and sketches. Corden differentiates his show by offering viewers a peek behind-the-scenes into the green room, bringing all of his guests out at once and lending his musical and acting talents to various sketches. Additionally, bandleader Reggie Watts and the house band provide original, improvised music throughout the show. Since Corden took the reigns as host in March 2015, he has quickly become known for generating buzzworthy viral videos, such as Carpool Karaoke."

Season 2 of Netflix's original series Stranger Things will debut in 2017 and consist of 9 episodes. The seventh season of HBO's Game of Thrones will arrive in 2017. The Late Late Show with James Corden airs weeknights at 12:35 AM ET/11:35 PM CT on CBS.
