Running Back Malik Johnson Flips Over Defender For Highlight Of The Year Contender

Pro Football season is just about here, but the High School Football season has already started, and it delivered a play that should be considered when that highlight of the year category comes around again.

The play comes courtesy of running back Malik Johnson, who plays for the Braulio Alonso High School Ravens. They were matched up against Sickles High School, and on a fake punt play, Johnson attempted to grab the first down. He accomplished his goal, but he did so in style, as he literally flipped over a rushing defender, landed on his feet in Spider-Man like fashion, and continued to run for even more yardage.

The play was caught on video thanks to Paul Ryan from News Channel 8 sports, and he's right that it may very well be an early contender for highlight of the year. It was, unfortunately, a losing effort for the Ravens, but hopefully, they can get their first win of the season against Chamberlain High School, who they face on September 2nd. All eyes will certainly be on Johnson for another stunning play.

It's a play that even pro football players would be jealous of, but maybe we'll see some similar plays this year when their season stars up on September 8th.
