During a performance in Edmonton, Alberta, Meat Loaf collapsed on stage. The 68-years-old singer had already postponed a show earlier this week due to illness according to his Facebook page.

He collapsed during a performance of his Grammy winning song "I'd Do Anything For Love" at the Northern Jubilee Auditorium on Thursday night. Fans in attendance were confused as to what was happening when Meat Loaf's microphone dropped, he collapsed forward, and then rolled over on his back. The song stopped abruptly as band member and backstage crew rushed to his side according to CNN.

The Edmonton Journal had a statement from Lindsay Sundmark recalling that fans, "weren't sure whether it was part of the act or it was something real." Another concert goer, Britt Brewer, stated, "it looked like he was just being theatrical."

The collapse was indeed real as the Alberta Health Services reported that they transported a patient to an Edmonton Hospital from the concert, although they did not confirm who it was.

A post on Meat Loaf's Facebook page reads, "Meat Loaf collapsed Thursday night due to severe dehydration near the end of his concert at the Northern Jubilee Auditorium in Edmonton Alberta, Canada. He was admitted to a nearby hospital to undergo routine tests. His vital signs are stable and normal - he's responsive and recovering well. He extends his heartfelt thanks for everyone's support and well wishes, and is expecting a speedy and full recovery."

The post also concluded that any future postponements for his concerts will be announced at a later time.
