Norman Reedus narrates, describing how he viewed Texas as kid, watching western movies and dreaming about one day going there. He is drawn to its independent spirit. In Austin, Reedus says it is very much his home away from home. Tonight, he'll check out one of his favorite bands. First, he'll ride some Texas backroads with his friend Jake. This week, he'll ride from Austin to San Antonio.

Reedus rides over to Jake's art studio and finds him painting. Jake was a former pro skater and now works with metals, paints, and lots of other materials to create art. He's finishing up some homemade targets so he and Reedus can go shoot them up. They pack up and head over to Limey Bikes where they meet the motor and see his customized Yamaha before going to check out the full shop. Jake is riding a vintage 1977 Harley Davidson.

The trio arrives at the shop and sees a lineup of bikes outside. Inside, they check out some bikes dating back to 1966 which are in the shop to be restored. The shop is unique to Austin. They scavenge rare parts and bring old bikes back to life. On the way out, Jake's battery dies but the shop is quick to solve the issue!

Jake and Reedus ride across town to Troublemaker Studios to meet Robert Rodriguez, director of Sin City. Upon arrival at Rodriguez's studio and see the sets of Sin City which are almost entirely green steps and screens. Rodriguez grew up in the area and went to film school in Austin and found himself involved in the industry in his first year when he made El Mariachi. Rodriguez shows Reedus the Jesse James bike from Grindhouse and an El Camino turned into an armored tank for Machete Kills. They move on to the bar set of From Dusk Til Dawn where they sit down to eat and talk about Texas.

Reedus and Jake head out. Reedus reflects on Rodriguez's ability to do his own film's with his own style outside of Hollywood. They arrive at a bar to watch one of Reedus' favorite bands, The Well. After getting a drink, Reedus introduces himself to the band before the show.

The morning after watching The Well's show, Jake and Reedus hit the road for San Antonio. They ride outside of the city on to some back roads where they see lots of open space, cows, and old gas stations. At lunch time, they stop in Leakey, Texas for some briskets. Reedus sits and talks with some employees about how many different types of place s one can find in Texas. He checks out the gift ship and gets himself a new hat and shirt. A woman catches Reedus in the street and asks for a photo and some other fans catch up with him, as well.

On the road again, Reedus describes how beautiful riding the Twisted Sisters is. Along their journey, the duo sees a handful of dead animals, they ride on hillsides and eventually stop for a smoke, a stretch and some pictures at a gas station. Just before getting to their destination, Jake's bike stalls. He takes care of it and they arrive in San Antonio. Their next stop will be a gun range after finishing up Jake's custom targets. They spray paint some graffiti on their targets and Reedus grabs shells out of a nearby trash can to add to his.

On the range, they meet Bill and other men who operate it. They only use old west style gun, giving Reedus a pistol to holster on his hip. Bill teaches Reedus how to shoot. They hit some targets at range before standing up their own targets and destroying them with shotguns. After a day of shooting, they head south for another bike shop. They ride past the Alamo and Reedus' impression is that it's "super tiny."

Across town, they meet up with Colt Wrangler, a bike manufacturer who builds with completely custom parts. He is best known for his "stripped down fast bikes." They go on a tour of his party and stop a "chicken s--- bingo," where people bet on the numbers the chickens will defecate on. Inside, Colt shows Reedus some old collectibles and photos, including his own mother riding a bull. Colt shows Reedus some bikes and shares a bit of his perspective on life. The group parties for the rest of the night.

The next day, Reedus and Jake ride out. He reflects on the trip and admires Texas' vitality and independence.
