Go-Go Gadget: Pineapple Slicer and Dicer

go go gadget header

Pineapples are one of the most beautiful fruits to visually appreciate due to their unique shape and distinct characteristics, but they're also one of the trickiest fruits to cut. The first main problem with cutting a pineapple is the skin — it's extremely tough and inedible, so no matter what, the skin has to be separated from the fruit in order to properly eat the fruit. The second biggest problem is the large cylindrical core inside the pineapple that has the toughest, most fibrous part of the fruit, and is also a pain in the butt to cut around. When cutting pineapple, the goal is to get as much fruit between the skin and the core as possible without wasting perfectly good, sweet, yellow fruit.

This gadget peels, cores, slices and dices a tough pineapple into plump, juicy bites of sweet deliciousness in seconds! No more disfigured and jagged chunks of fruit cut in a manner that is intended to salvage as much fruit as possible, no more awkwardly trying to eat around tough and spikey skin, and finally, no more unexpected chunks of tough fibrous fruit getting thrown in your pile of good pineapple.

This gadget is relatively easy to use and can be handled in many ways. First, cut the top off of the pineapple in order to remove the leaves and part of the fruit (enough to get a flat surface at the top). Insert the shaft into the top of your pineapple, lining up the sharp teeth with the core; apply pressure with one hand and twist the handle while securing the bottom half of the pineapple with the other hand; Once you've reached the bottom, pull the gadget out to remove the fruit. For cut chunks of pineapple, press the slicer down on the fruit and voila!
