Salma Hayek Claims This Bizarre Method Is Behind Her Insane Bikini Body

Salma Hayek’s fit body is no joke, but fans are confused when it comes to her routine.

The 50-year-old Hitman’s Bodyguard actress shared a sexy photo on Instagram Friday, revealing her super-toned arms and core during a bikini-clad outdoor shower.

Hayek captioned the fit photo, “#water the most beautiful delicious and precious necessity of human,” and repeated it in Spanish.

From the looks of her Instagram feed, Hayek seems to be enjoying an active outdoor vacation in Costa Rica. Two days before her steamy shower pic, the actress shared a video of herself being propelled from one treetop platform to another, once holding her feet with her hands and again hanging upside down, adding a twirl on her final swing. She captioned the adventurous video “Pura vida” meaning ‘pure life’, which is also a popular saying to describe the culture of Costa Rica.

The actress’ fit body would indicate some serious hours spent at the gym, but Hayek says she rarely exercises.

Instead of working out in traditional ways, she says she’s learned techniques to tone her body through a practice of ‘muscle activation’.

“I work with a woman in London who taught me how to hold my body in a way where the muscles are activated all day long,” Hayek told PEOPLE of her routine. “So even when you brush your teeth, you’re working the muscles.”

This mystery trainer’s methods claim that the body can be toned and rightened without any weightlifting or cardio, but rather through a type of restorative yoga that activates the muscles at all times. “She taught me to tone [my muscles] without clenching them. You relax them and focus on the parts that need to be used, but never with tension. If you’re aware of your body, you’d be surprised by the effect it can have.”

Though some experts are skeptical of her anti-exercise claims, her body doesn’t lie. Though good genes are likely at play, whatever she’s doing is clearly working!
