Sons Of Anarchy: Everything We Know About Mayans MC So Far
Sons Of Anarchy ended it's seven-year run on FX as one TV's top dramas, and fans of the series [...]
Plot
Fans may be used to the SOA universe revolving around Charming, CA, but Mayans will be much different.
When the pilot was announced, FX released this official plot:
Mayans MC is set in a post Jax Teller world, where EZ Reyes, a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the Cali/Mexi border, struggles with his desire for vengeance against the cartel, and his need for respect from the women he loves.
prevnextSetting
According to that plot, this show will also have a very different setting than the original series.
The timeline is the first indication, as it takes place in "a post-Jax Teller world". This means that it's following the events of Sons Of Anarchy, and won't crossover with their original timeline.
The series will also move further south, as it's confirmed to follow a charter along the US/Mexico border.
prevnextSutter and James
A lot of the cast and crew have yet to be confirmed, but there are two names that are leading the show.
Kurt Sutter will begin as the show's producer and oversee the majority of the creative process. Well, at least at first. His goal is to hand the show off to a fully-Latino creative team as the series goes on.
Sutter will also serve as the pilot director.
Elgin James will write the series, as well as serve as showrunner and producer.
prevnextProduction Dates
Mayans MC is set for a Fall premiere date on FX, and that means production is currently gearing up.
Sutter and his team are currently casting the lead roles of the show, with filming set to begin sometime in March.
