Just days before Jose Fernandez died in a tragic boating accident near Miami Beach. He shared a special message to his girlfriend.
Fernandez took to Instagram with a photo of his girlfriend on the beach looking down at her pregnant belly "I'm so glad you came into my life. I'm ready for where this journey is gonna take us together," he wrote adding, "#familyfirst."
According to Rare.us, the boat Fernandez was on was found flipped over after it reportedly crashed into rocks. A statement was released once the deaths had been confirmed.
"The Miami Marlins organization is devastated by the tragic loss of Jose Fernandez. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this very difficult time," they wrote. "Today's game against the Atlanta Braves has been cancelled."
