While some people weren't happy with the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot, many fans and critics had a great time with the Paul Feig vehicle. Even with the support of audiences across the country, the film didn't live up to expectations and it looks as though the franchise will fizzle out before the proposed sequel. If you were one of those who loved the film and still want more, it looks like there's something coming very soon!

Sony announced that Ghostbusters would be released on Digital HD on September 27th, and on Blu-Ray and DVD on October 11th. The 4K/3D Blu-Ray combo pack, as well as the Blu-Ray, are going to include an extended edition of the film that will contain around fifteen minutes of extra footage.

Batman v Superman was given the same treatment over the summer when the Ultimate Edition Blu-Ray was released. Critics had plenty of problems with the plot and pacing of the theatrical release, and the Ultimate Edition's extra footage seemed to clear some of that up. Ghostbusters will look to add to their movie as well, but they weren't criticized for their story-telling. Whether the extended edition will enhance the film or not remains to be seen, but fans will get more footage nontheless.

In addition to the extended cut, the Blu-Ray will also include more than three hours of special features. Everything from behind-the-scenes footage to gag reels will be added to the bonus material, so there will be plenty of extras for fans to enjoy.

If you want some more specifics, here's the full list of features that will be included on the Blu-Ray:

  • Ghostbusters: Extended Edition and Theatrical Release
  • 2 Hysterically Haunting Gag Reels
  • 4 Unearthed Deleted Scenes
  • 11 Totally Possessed Alternate Scenes and more than 60 minutes of additional and extended scenes with Ultraviolet download
  • 6 Jokes-A-Plenty Alternate Take Reels
  • 5 Supernatural Featurettes: "Chris Hemsworth is Kevin"; "The Ghosts of Ghostbusters"; "Meet The Team"; "Visual Effects: 30 Years Later"; "Slime Time"
