In case you missed it, the Fyre Festival was an event co-founded by rapper Ja Rule and Fyre C.E.O. Billy McFarland. It was marketed as the next Coachella, but turned out to be a total disaster.
The event, which was to be held in The Bahamas, was pitched as a luxurious getaway complete with yachts, celebrity-chef catering, and an amazing lineup of music artists set to take the stage. Celebrities like Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Emily Ratajkowski were a few of the stars that were reportedly going to be given a free pass to the event in exchange for marketing the festival on social media.
What actually happened was there was no music festival and the attendees at the event were placed in disaster-relief tents with no lights. The lavish meal turned out to be a couple slices of wheat bread with a few slices of cheese. People were stranded on the island, and now Fyre has been slapped with a $100 million lawsuit.
