It's been 10 years since Heidi Montag and Lauren Conrad's friendship splintered for good during the season three premiere of The Hills when Conrad blamed Montag for spreading a rumor that Conrad had a sex tape with then-boyfriend Jason Wahler.

Since the episode, Montag's husband, Spencer Pratt, has taken the blame for the rumor, but Montag feels the moment still causes people to influence their perception of her.

"I thought that our friendship was way stronger than [Lauren] blaming a rumor on me," Montag told E! News, noting that the moment made her feel like a "scapegoat."

"I think the biggest misconception that was projected from that moment on was that I did something to Lauren, and I didn't…I was nothing but a great friend to her," she added. "It's unfortunate that that ended up being a whole new chapter about how I was perceived and what was going on."

Pratt added that he viewed the moment as a great shot for television.

"My brain thinks different than most people," he explained. "I would imagine I was thinking, 'Oh! What a great scene. That's great for TV.' That's the problem when you think like a producer while being on-camera. You get excited for action, even if it's supposedly real."

With the drama in the past, the couple is currently focusing on their first child, as Montag is currently pregnant with their upcoming arrival.

"Pregnancy has been amazing," Montag shared. "I love being pregnant. I think it's one of the best times of my life."
