It's been 16 years since Sheryl Crow and Kid Rock released their hit song, "Picture," but it seems that Rock is still inspiring Crow, even today.

The "Favorite Mistake" singer has written a hilarious new song after a tweet went viral about Kid Rock's possible bid for the U.S. Senate.

In mid-July, Rock teased a potential run to represent his home state of Michigan and even launched a website to promote his future candidacy. Rock promised to announce whether he'll make a real run within six weeks.

In response to Rock's news, a Twitter user wrote that Crow must be "rolling in her grave." Crow retweeted the comment, writing, "Dude, I'm Still Alive."

The mix-up prompted the female artist to write a new song with the same title — "Dude, I'm Still Alive" — and she sang the song live in the studio and shared it to Twitter, along with the lyrics.

In the tune, Crow lightly mocks her pal Rock's reputation as a bad boy.

"At least the guy's not 90 / in his 32nd term / But a pole in the Lincoln bedroom is bound to make some people squirm," the lyrics say.

She goes on to poke fun at the current administration.

"As for Comey, Sean and Reince, dude, at least you're still alive," she sings, closing with, "Dude you're still alive / Dude you're still alive / You're like Gloria Gaynor / You know we will survive / No matter what's online / Fake news or lies / Dude I'm still alive."

Though both singers have been friends for years, they don't appear to see eye to eye on politics, with Rock an avid supporter of Trump and Crow previously calling for his impeachment.
