When it comes to mixing business with pleasure, sometimes you just can’t fight chemistry.
Who said romance was just a thing of Hollywood? Over the years, Tinseltown has seen plenty of on-screen couples falling in love off-screen and staying together, proving happily ever afters do exist. And it applies to not just the movies, there have been some heartwarming romances blossom on the small screen.
From the greats like Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, or even Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos — so many stars managed to find love between lines of their scripts over and over. And once the cameras stopped rolling, their real-life love affair began.
Sharing their tender moments on social media and attending events together, these couples are real relationship goals and prove their love is one for the books.
Some of the biggest celebrity super couples met while shooting films or television shows together. Remember Brangelina or Bennifer II before the divorce? Whether their love inspires you or just gives you all the feels when watching that classic movie or episode, we look at seven of the cutest couples who kept the on-screen fires burning long after the directors yelled cut.
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth in “The Last Song”
In case you didn’t realize, these two actually met while co-starring in the 2010 film, The Last Song, based on the book by Nicholas Sparks. With the plotline being über romantic, it’s no wonder the two got together.
After the two started dating, Hemsworth proposed to Cyrus, but they called off their engagement in 2013. But, true love finds its way back all the time and the two reconciled in December 2015. However, this time around they are not hurrying to tie the knot.
Kit Harington and Rose Leslie in “Game of Thrones”
Although the two kept their relationship private, the Game of Thrones co-stars began dating after she joined the cast as Jon Snow’s enemy-turned lover, Ygritte.
The two, who started dating in 2012 have been on and off, but earlier this summer, the HBO star told James Corden that the two recently moved in together, telling the late-night host, “I’m very very happy and it’s going well. She’s got all sorts of ideas for the house.”
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton on “The Voice”
They might not have met on a movie set, but a reality music competition can stir just as many emotions. While the two started off as friends, they began to bond over their respective divorces in 2015.
During a late-night appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Stefani gushed about Shelton, saying he’s “unbelievable,” saying, “He’s the most incredible guy. Everybody loves Blake and that’s the thing, there’s no way around it. He’s just a sparkly, happy, amazing person.”
Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling in “Place Beyond the Pines”
Golden Globe winner, Ryan Gosling met Eva Mendes on the set of their 2011 film, Place Beyond the Pines and have been together ever since. Parents to two daughters, the two are quite private, but during his Oscar win, Gosling opened about Mendes and what an important figure she is in his life while he went off making movies.
“[I would] like to try and thank one person properly and say that while I was singing and dancing and playing piano and having one of the best experiences I’ve ever had on a film, my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer,” he said. “If she hadn’t have taken all that on so that I could have this experience, it would surely be someone else up here other than me today.”
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds in “Green Lantern”
Though the movie never took off and sticks out like a sore thumb among superhero films, Ryan Reynolds found one good thing out of filming Green Lantern when he befriended, Blake Lively. A year after his divorce from Scarlett Johansson, Reynolds and Lively began dating and got married in 2012, after purchasing a home together.
Earlier this May, Reynolds and Lively attended the Met Gala, where he opened up about his wife with a heartwarming message posted to Humans of New York’s Instagram.
“She always responds with empathy. She meets anger with empathy. She meets hate with empathy,” he said. “She’ll take the time to imagine what happened to a person when they were five or six years old. And she’s made me a more empathetic person. I had a very fractured relationship with my father. Before he died, she made me remember things I didn’t want to remember. She made me remember the good times.”

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux in “Wanderlust”
Regarded as one of America’s sweethearts, Jennifer Aniston is the quintessential girl-next-door with her bubbly attitude and congenial nature. In 2011, she met the love of her life in actor, Justin Theroux on the set of the film, Wanderlust.
They ended up buying a home together in Los Angeles’ Bel-Air neighborhood the next year for a staggering $22 million, clearly showing the two were serious about the investment. In 2015, they walked down the aisle in what was a quiet, low-key wedding at their mega mansion.
Earlier this spring, the 45-year-old actor dished in an interview with Rhapsody magazine how tying the knot with Aniston helped him put everything in perspective with Theroux saying, “Marriage makes the small things much smaller and the big things small. You have an ally. It’s good to have someone have your back.”
Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum in “Step Up”
It’s been said that dancing is a prelude to romance and it was definitely evidenced through Step Up’s stars, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan. The two professional dancers met on the set of the film in 2006 and have been in love ever since. But it actually wasn’t that easy. Dewan gave Tatum an ultimatum, asking she wanted serious commitment or nothing — and he couldn’t refuse.
In an interview with ELLE, Tatum said he had gotten out of a long relationship and wasn’t ready, but knew she was not someone he wanted to just date. After having one of his friends give him a pep talk, Tatum says the rest was history as he took the plunge, saying, “that night I showed up at her hotel room with a sombrero on, and that was it.”0comments
