Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp Are Reportedly Back Together

Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp are rekindling their romance after breaking up over two years ago.

The celebrity couple started dating back in 2010, but then called it quits in August of 2014. "They have a bond," a source close to the pair said, according to PEOPLE.

The "Jack & Diane" singer and the You've Got Mail actress were last seen together at the Art Cliff Diner in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, on May 20.

"They are together. It's been a few months," a source said while talking with Page Six.

The news of their reconciliation was surprising, as just a few months ago the 65-year-old rocker said that Ryan "hates [him] to death" during an interview with Howard Stern this past March.

"Oh, women hate me," Mellencamp said. "I loved Meg Ryan. She hates me to death."

When Stern asked why the 55-year-old actress would "hate" the singer, Mellencamp said, "I think it's because I'm a child. I throw fits, I gripe, I complain. I'm moody. Every bad thing that a fella can be, that's me."

Stern then suggested that the rocker could attempt to make amends with Ryan, but Mellencamp insisted that he had already done so, unsuccessfully.

"I've done that. She just doesn't want anything to do with me," he said. "And I can't blame her."

Following the Stern interview, it appeared that Mellencamp and Ryan remained friends as they were spotted hanging out together. She has been seen in the stands in his shows on multiple occasions since that time.

"Meg was at his recent Forest Hills Stadium concert, dancing on the side of the stage," an onlooker told Page Six.

After Mellencamp and Ryan broke up, he went on to date supermodel Christie Brinkley for over a year. Mellencamp and Brinkley split last summer.
