Gilligan's Island Movie Could Have LOST Influence

Josh Gad is currently writing a film adaptation of Gilligan's Island, the classic TV comedy centered on a group of people stranded on a remote island. Gad tells MTV that the film may be influenced by a more recent television series based on a remote island, the mysterious drama Lost. "You would be remiss not to at least touch upon that in the movie," Gad said on the influence of Lost. "And I'll leave it at that." Gad certainly has a challenge in front of him in trying to modernize the classic television series. "You have to look at the material from a modern perspective," Gad said, "and we've certainly done that, and certainly created a world that is going to surprise a lot of people in a great way. The tone of it is very unexpected." So will Gilligan's island be home to polar bears and smoke monsters? We'll have to wait and see.
