and Amazing Spider-Man 2 star Andrew Garfield has been offered a multi-million dollar deal to continue playing the role of Spider-Man through 2020, according to The Daily Star. The report says that Garfield and Emma Stone, his girlfriend and co-star, are looking into buying a home in Los Angeles to celebrate the offer. The deal may also include a profit-sharing clause, similar to what Robert Downey, Jr. worked into his contract with Marvel for continuing to play Iron Man. There has been no official statement, but the report claims that a source at Columbia Pictures has said, "Andrew is already contracted to make two more films for release in 2015 and 2016. But we are looking to tie him to the role for as many as a further four pictures given the huge success the franchise is enjoying. The part is pretty much his for as long as he chooses." If true, it seems we'll be looking at another six years, and potentially as many films, featuring Garfield as Spider-Man. Garfield's latest turn as Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, is currently playing in theaters.
