Batman vs. Superman

Jonathan Nolan, co-writer of The Dark Knight and brother of director Christopher Nolan, was a guest on Larry King Now earlier this week and weighed in on Ben Affleck being cast as Batman. "Warner Bros. has a fantastic relationship with Ben," Nolan said, "he's a fantastic filmmaker and a phenomenal lead. I think he's going to be an incredible Batman." Nolan was asked if he'd ever like to revisit Batman sometime in the future. He said maybe, but not for a long time. "I'd love to go back twenty years from now," Nolan said. "I'd love to go back and revisit that character in a different part of my life. But that was 10 years of my life, and we were very proud of the films that we made." Nolan also expressed that one of the most interesting things about writing Batman was his lack of any supernatural abilities. "His superpowers were rage and money," said Nolan, "and there was nothing extraordinary about it. It's just the ordinary man, sufficiently pissed off to want to go and turn his life into a symbol and go out and fight crime in the middle of the night." Batman vs. Superman, starring Ben Affleck as Batman, is scheduled for theatrical release on May 6, 2016.
